Age 67, of Palm Bay, FL, formerly of Richmond, OH, and Sheraden, PA, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Friday, January 21, 2022. Beloved husband of Sandy Schulte. Loving stepfather to Emily Pollock, Samantha (David) Porter and Katelyn (Casey) Vanasupa. Brother of Carol (Dennis) Ziolkowski, Mark Snyder, Christopher Snyder, Pam (Joe) Rutkowski, Jan (Gary) Chillson, Leslie (the late Jim) Naughton, Scott (Becky) Snyder and the late Raymond Snyder, Jr. Son of the late Raymond, Sr. and Mary (Neale) Snyder. Gary will be sadly missed by numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends. Gary worked most of his career as a maintenance engineer. First, at Bruce Plastics, then moved on to work at Kindred Hospital of Pittsburgh, where he earned a golden stethoscope award and met the love of his life. Gary was fortunate enough to be able to dabble in a little bit of everything throughout his life. He was an avid hunter, particularly turkey and deer. In 2000, Gary was recognized by Pope and Young for a record set in bow hunting for his buck kill. Gary loved fishing, especially with KP, and was passionate about his gardening; he could grow anything. He was a wine and beer maker, an avid bike rider, and a fixer of all things to be fixed. He whistled when he was happy, which was often, and he secretly played the harmonica. Gary was happy and congenial to all and was loved by anyone who was lucky enough to have known him. Friends received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at ANTHONY G. STAAB FUNERAL HOME, INC., 900 Chartiers Ave., Pgh., PA 15220. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Ascension Church of St. Philip Parish, 114 Berry St., Pgh, PA 15205. Burial to follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Gary’s family is thankful for the wonderful care Gary received in his final hours at Holmes Regional Medical Center Emergency Department and from the A3 floor. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made, in memory of Gary, to the Health First Foundation, 1350 S. Hickory St., Melbourne, FL 32901, www.HFgive.org.
