Josephine "Joann" Maurer Obituary
Age 86, of Crafton, formerly of Sheraden, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Beloved wife of the late George J. Maurer, Jr. Loving mother of Ann (the late Frank) Carrabbia, Georgiann (Edward) Bonetti, and the late Marie (Kurt—still surviving) Christmann, Mary Jo Stewart, and Barbara Dempsey. Grandmother of Christy (Michael) Gere, Katelyn Parker, Faith Killen and the late Kurt Christmann, Michael Christmann, Ronnie Dempsey. Daughter of the late Charles J. and Emilia (Kowlewski) Holzapfel. Sister of Blondine Elter and the late Larry Holzapfel, Bernard Holzapfel, Norbert Holzapfel, and Charles Holzapfel. Joann will be sadly missed by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
As per Joann’s wishes, there will be no visitation. However, friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 27th at 10 a.m. in Ascencion Church of St. Philip Parish, 114 Berry St., Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
