Age 81, of Mulberry, Florida, formerly of Pittsburgh, on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. Beloved wife of J. Steven Beinhauer; also survived by loving nephews and cousins.
As a teenager, she participated in JOAD at Pittsburgh Archery Club in North Park, the Clairton Sportsmen's Club, and competed in many junior archery tournaments in the Mid-Atlantic region. In her adult life she traveled extensively to compete going to Las Vegas, Watkins Glen, Aurora, IL. She held memberships in the Falcon Archers in Canonsburg, National Field Archery Association, PA State Archery Association, the Carter Road Lakeland Archery Club and the Florida Archery Association. In addition, she belonged to the Cleveland Heights and Walden Lake Women's Golf Associations.
Norma was employed by the Swissvale School Districts as a secretary. She also served as administrative secretary for the managing partner of Reed Smith Shaw and McClay and as secretary to the General Manager of Pitt Park at the Meadows in 1972, then returning to the law firm before moving to Florida in 1983.
Norma loved her kitchen where she practiced the culinary art. She learned from her mother and took many cooking classes at The Community College of Allegheny County. She baked bread, muffins, buns, and biscuits; she stir-fried almost everything served over steamed rice. She also enjoyed preparing cheese fondue, made succulent roasts from venison and feral hogs. Norma made any cut of meat succulent from roasts in the oven, a slow cooker, a crock-pot, or BBQ grill. She had the knack to prepare wild game so it was never "wild to the taste". Her most tasty dishes were Chinese, cooked in a wok.
Friends received Monday 2 p.m. until time of service at 5 p.m. at ANTHONY G. STAAB FUNERAL HOME, INC., 900 Chartiers Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15220.
