Patricia Julian Obituary

Patricia A. (Zehfuss) Julian, age 87, formerly of Elliott, peacefully passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Genesis-Bridgeville. Born on August 22, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Andrew F. and Anna M. (McGoldrick) Zehfuss. Pat graduated from the former St. James High School in the West End.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 62 years, Rocco E. Julian; two brothers, Edward F. Zehfuss, Sr., and James Zehfuss; and a sister, Mary (Helfer) Keller. Pat is survived by her three children, Richard (Kathleen) Julian, of Robinson Township, Ronald (the late Deborah) Julian, of Ingram, and Nancy (John) Schneider, of Munhall; her grandchildren, Erika (Adam) Airhart, Robert Julian, Emily Julian, and "Mimi" to Shelby Schneider; G.G. of Christopher and Breanna Airhart.

Pat was a faithful, caring, and giving person, very much loved and treasured. Her family and friends were very important to her and she will be dearly missed. Don’t tell her kids, but being a grandma was her joy, and she absolutely loved babysitting her grandchildren.

Pat was employed in various clerical positions at Mellon Bank and Insurance Company of North America/CIGNA. Prior to those “paying” jobs, Pat spent many years in her real full-time job of "mom" to her children and many others growing up in Elliott during the 1970’s and early 1980’s.

Ode to mom:

"Gophering, chauffeuring, household chairman and homemaker;

Launderette, cleaning service, sewing and button fixer, sock ball maker;

Treasurer and financial manager, bargain hunter, coupon cutter, vacation planner;

Juggling, struggling, robbin’ Peter to pay Paul;

Life coach, personal stylist, psychic, referee, rule enforcer;

Activity planner, meal chef and snack maker, candy stand worker;

Teacher, homework helper, problem solver, paper typer;

Time manager, crisis manager, magic maker, nurse, boo-boo kisser… MOM!"

Pat’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to her caregivers at Genesis-Bridgeville, the hospice team from Bethany Hospice, and the doctors and office staff of Dr. Samuel Simone for their kind and compassionate care, especially her roommate Carol.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. and Monday from 3-7 p.m. at ANTHONY G. STAAB FUNERAL HOME INC., 900 Chartiers Ave, Pgh, PA 15220.
