Paul S. Suhy Obituary
Paul Stephen Suhya, Age 84, of Elliott, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Son of the late Andrew J. and Mary (Bobak) Suhy. Paul will be dearly missed by extended family, cousins, and numerous loving friends.
Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army, PFC, from 1962 to 1964. Paul was a decorated veteran, recognized as a skilled Marksman and receiving the Good Conduct Medal. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Paul held numerous jobs, most notably as a laborer for J & L Steel. In addition to his time at J & L, Paul's greatest privilege and responsibility, in which he took on with much pride, was the devoted care he provided to his mother, Mary. For much of his life, Paul made the care of his mother a priority, tending to her needs with patience, compassion, selflessness, love, and providing her with company, ease, and comfort. Paul's devotion to her was a reflection of his character; steadfast, humble, caring, and deeply committed to his family. Paul will now be reunited with his late mother and his beloved family who preceded him in death.
Paul was also a man of strong faith. Paul remained deeply connected to his church communities throughout the city of Pittsburgh, belonging to numerous congregations in the area, most recently to the Temple Baptist Church, in the Mt. Oliver neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Paul not only found a place of worship, but a true sense of peace, forming new friendships and connections that brought him great joy and comfort.
Paul will be remembered as a kind, caring, warm, generous, and gentle soul, who was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer support, or simply be present for those in need. His caring nature and genuine concern for others left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
As per the family's wishes, there will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to a Committal Service, on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Rd., Bridgeville, PA 15017, where Paul will be laid to rest with Military Honors.
