Age 71, of Pittsburgh, on Sunday, April 6, 2025. Beloved husband of Lisa A. (Gaul) Griffin. Loving brother of Kenneth (Deborah) Griffin and Kathy (Steve Irvin) Griffin. Son of the late Raymond and Helen (Dibert) Griffin. Rich is also survived by a nephew, Richard (Carlin) Griffin; great-nephew, Xavier Griffin; great-niece, Lu Griffin; and cousins, Randy Chancellor, Tammy Bucklew, and Raymond Chancellor.
Rich was a quiet man with a wonderful sense of humor. As he was growing up, he loved going to summer camp at Camp Living Waters. He loved fly fishing and making his own flies. His favorite place to fish was Fisherman’s Paradise, Spring Creek in State College. Rich was an avid reader. One of his favorite authors was Stephen King. Rich loved music of all kinds. After he retired, Rich decided to take banjo lessons. Rich enjoyed the simple things of life; family, nature, walking at Honeywell with his wife, watching old movies, sitting on the porch listening to the rain and thunder, and experiencing the blessings of life. He loved sharing his days with the love of his life, Lisa. Together, they were team Griffin. Rich was a man of great faith. He was a well-loved member of the church families of St. John’s United Church of Christ and Allegheny Open Arms UCC. Rich didn’t fear the future, because he believed that Jesus was with him always.
A Memorial Service celebrating Rich’s life will be held on Sunday, April 27th at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 501 E Main St., Evans City, PA 16033. There will be a time of visitation beginning at 12 Noon. The memorial service will begin at 12:30 p.m., followed by fellowship meal.
