Sr. Anne Winschel, CDP

At the age of 92, Sister Anne passed to eternal life on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. She was baptized at St. Mary’s Parish in Sharpsburg and entered the Sisters of Divine Providence from St. Mary’s in Glenshaw, PA. Anne is one of seven children of John F. Winschel and Caroline M. Frost. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: John F. (Jack), Mary Bittner, Thomas and Charles. She is survived by sisters Agnes DeLany,  and Sister Carolyn Winschel, CDP; Sisters-in–law Carolyn Winschel, Mary Anne Spann and her husband Tom, many nieces and nephews, the Sisters of Divine Providence and their Associates. Sister Anne earned a Bachelor of Education degree at Duquesne University (Magna Cum Laude) and a Master of Science in Counseling from California State University, San Diego. Ministries include: Teacher at the elementary, secondary, and college levels, Counselor, Spiritual Director, Retreat Director, Community leadership and various administrative positions. Viewing for Sr. Anne will be held, Thursday, August 10, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wake service at 7:00 p.m.  Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, August 11 at 11:00 a.m. All will take place in Visitation Chapel at Kearns Spirituality Center, 9000 Babcock Boulevard, Allison Park, PA 15101.
