Of McCandless Twp., on Tuesday, February 7, 2012. Sister Assumpta entered religious life in 1946 from Sr. Canice parish in Knoxville. She ministered through domestic service in the laundry and kitchens of Divine Providence and Braddock General Hospitals and later as housekeeper at Providence Heights (1962-90). She was extremely conscientious in the day-to-day living out of her ministry. She received the Marie de la Roche Award for internal ministry, presented to a sister who exemplified in her life and ministry the spirit and virtues of Community cofounder Marie de la Roche; humility, gentleness, and simplicity in the midst of demanding duties, deep faith and total openness in acceptance of the will of God, and trust in Divine Providence. On the occasion of her jubilee, she shared that she felt nourished through her life by the consideration and sharing that she experienced as a Sister. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Rachael (Bracco) Capaccio, brother, Nick and sisters, Marie Capaccio and Rose Alfonsi. Survived by loving nieces, nephews, cousins, Sisters of Divine Providence and Associates throughout the world. Friends received Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wake Service Thursday at 7 p.m. Additional visitation Friday noon to 3 p.m. at Providence Heights followed by Funeral Mass at 3:30 p.m. in the Mother of Divine Providence Chapel.
