At the age of 86, Sr. Clarice Carlson, went to her eternal reward on July 14, 2020. She was born in Carrick, PA on September 26, 1933; was baptized in St. Basil’s in Pittsburgh, PA and was given the name Harriet Ann. She entered the Sisters of Divine Providence in 1948 and made Final Vows on August 12, 1956. Sr. Clarice was an educator for a over 40 years; was a teacher and High School Guidance Counselor throughout the greater Pittsburgh area and in the Altoona Diocese. She served at La Roche University in a variety of positions but most especially as the student program coordinator and academic counselor for Project Achievement/Act 101. Upon retiring from LRU, Sr. Clarice assisted in a variety of responsibilities at Providence Heights. She received her Bachelor in Education from Duquesne University in 1960; her Masters in Counseling Education in 1971 from the University of Pittsburgh. Sr. Clarice was preceded in death by her father, Eric A. Carlson, Mother, Madeline Carlson Raupp, Step-father, Louis Raupp and brother, Eric Carlson II from Pittsburgh, PA. Sr. Clarice is survived by her step-brother, Gerald Raupp (Mary), nieces and nephews and the Sisters of Divine Providence and their Associates. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, services and interment are private. A Memorial Mass will be arranged at a later date.
