At the age of 61, Sr. Denise Kabacinski went to her eternal reward on November 7, 2021. She was born in Detroit, MI on May 15, 1960; was baptized in St. Mary Magdalen in Hazel Park, MI, and was given the name Denise. She entered the Sisters of Divine Providence on October 1, 1992 made Final Vows on August 16, 2000. In 1980, Sr. Denise received an Associate Degree in Applied Arts in recreational leadership at Suomi College. Sr. Denise possessed a warm personality and a great passion for helping people especially the young, the disabled and the elderly. Some of the places that she ministered were: children in Vincentian Child Care or Providence Child Care, the disabled through Mercy Behavioral Health and more recently with our Sisters in St. Joseph Center here at Providence Heights. Sr. Denise is preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Formella. Sr. Denise is survived by all her brothers and sisters: Marlene Formella, Diane Johnson, Allen Kabacinski, Dennis (Janet) Kabacinski, Dawn (Jon) Kelly, and the Sisters of Divine Providence and their Associates. Fully vaccinated family and Sisters are invited to the Mother of Divine Providence Chapel for viewing on Saturday, November 13, from 10-11 a.m. The Mass of the Resurrection is to be celebrated immediately following visitation at 11 a.m., in the Sisters’ Chapel. Unfortunately, the Sisters cannot offer hospitality to family and friends of Sr. Denise after her funeral.
