At the age of 86, Sr. Jean Louise McIntyre (formerly Rita McIntyre) went to her eternal reward on September 4, 2021. She was born in Ebensburg, PA on November 21, 1934; was baptized in St. Patrick, Johnstown, PA. and was given the name Rita Irene. She entered the Sisters of Divine Providence on September 7, 1952 and made Final Vows on August 9, 1959. Sr. Jean Louise was an educator for almost 20 years as a teacher in the greater Pittsburgh area as well as in the Detroit, MI area. When she arrived back at Providence Heights, she assisted in driving Sisters to a variety of appointments and later gave domestic help to the Kearns Spirituality Center Staff. She also served as an Assistant to the Jubilee Association for several years. Sr. Jean Louise will always be remembered for her remarkable performance as Bishop Emanuel von Ketteler in one of the Sisters’ plays given at Providence Heights. She received her BE and ME in Education from Duquesne University. Sr. Jean Louise is preceded in death by her father, Russell, mother, Helen Blair and two siblings: Marjorie Rummel and Lois Imgrund. Sr. Jean Louise is survived by her two sisters, Barbara Kane and Marian Naccarato (Joseph), several nieces and nephews and the Sisters of Divine Providence and their Associates. Fully vaccinated family and friends are invited to the Mother of Divine Providence Chapel for viewing on Wednesday, September 8 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday, September 9 from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. The Mass of the Resurrection is to be celebrated on Thursday, September 9 at 4:00 p.m. in the Sisters’ Chapel, 9000 Babcock Blvd., Allison Park, PA.
