Sr. Margaret Mary Wagner, CDP Obituary

At the age of 91, Sr. Margaret Mary “Midge” Wagner (formerly Sr. Philip Neri) went to her eternal reward on July 28, 2021.  She was born in Glenshaw, PA on August 9, 1929; was baptized in St. Mary’s in Glenshaw PA and was given the name Margaret Mary.  She entered the Sisters of Divine Providence on September 8, 1946 and made Final Vows on August 15, 1953.  Sr. Margaret Mary was an educator for a little over 45 years as a teacher, principal and a Reading Specialist   throughout the greater Pittsburgh area, Wheeling WV, Plymouth, MA, Michigan and New Philadelphia, OH. She also served as a Pastoral Minister in VA, W. VA and in the Erie Diocese.  She responded to another call as Chaplain of Harmarville, Health South for several years.   Upon retiring to Providence Heights and possessing an adventurous heart, Sr. Margaret Mary was always searching for Sisters who needed a ride to various destinations.  She also religiously proctored the Sisters’ Library.  She received her BE from Duquesne University and a ME from Marygrove College.  Sr. Margaret Mary  is preceded in death by her father,  Sylvester, and mother, Elizabeth Hertweck, and  siblings: Lawrence (Terry), Joseph J (Eileen),  George E.(Rae), Sylvester F.(Marcia) and Elizabeth C.  Sr. Margaret Mary is survived by her Sister-in-law, Eileen, and many nieces and nephews plus many great nieces and nephews and the Sisters of Divine Providence and their Associates.   Fully vaccinated family and friends are invited to a special Prayer Service in the Mother of Divine Providence Chapel on Tuesday, August 3 at 7:00 p.m. and the Mass of Resurrection to be celebrated on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. in the Sisters Chapel, 9000 Babcock Blvd., Allison Park, PA 15101.  Livestream will be available: https://video.ibm.com/channel/Q4zW6rUvwPq.   Memorial contributions may be sent to the Sisters of Divine Providence, 9000 Babcock Blvd., Allison Park PA  15101.  Arrangements entrusted to ANTHONY G.
