Sr. Martha Thomas Baier, CDP

On October 12, 2022, Sr. Martha Thomas Baier (Phyllis) departed this life at the age of 84.  She was the only daughter of Thomas and Martha (Orpel) Baier.  Born in Pittsburgh and raised in the neighborhood of Carrick, she was baptized at St. Basil Parish.  She entered the Sisters of Divine Providence on January 6, 1957, and made final vows on August 9, 1964.  Sr. Martha Thomas received her ME degree from Duquesne University.  She served as teacher and principal at several Catholic schools in PA, in Total Parish Religious Education, in Pastoral Ministry and most recently in Bereavement Ministry.  Viewing will take place from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14, with a wake service at 7:00 p.m.  Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, October 15, at Noon, followed by burial in the Providence Heights Cemetery.  All events take place at Providence Heights, 9000 Babcock Boulevard, Allison Park, PA, 15101. A livestream will be available at: https://video.ibm.com/channel/Q4zW6rUvwPq.
