At the age of 83, Sr. Patricia Milko (formerly Sr. Mary George) went to her eternal reward on August 20, 2021. She was born in Barnesboro, PA on February 20, 1938; was baptized in St. John the Baptist Church in Barnesboro, PA and was given the name Patricia Ann. She entered the Sisters of Divine Providence on September 12, 1954 and made Final Vows on August 12, 1962. Sr. Patricia was an educator for almost 50 years as a teacher, CCD Coordinator and parish minister in several different dioceses, including Detroit, MI, Wheeling, W.Va, Utuada, Puerto Rico, Altoona/Johnstown, PA and in the greater Pittsburgh area. Being a remedial Reading Specialist and possessing a passion for helping people to pursue enviable lives, she also assisted at the ACLD program for a summer. She received her BE and ME in Education from Duquesne University. Sr. Patricia is preceded in death by her father, George, and mother, Mary Patricia Loy. Sr. Patricia is survived by her sister, Julia Joseph (Edward, dec.), several nieces and nephews and the Sisters of Divine Providence and their Associates. Fully vaccinated family and friends are invited to the Mother of Divine Providence Chapel for viewing on Monday, August 23, from 6-8 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, August 24, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. The Mass of the Resurrection is to be celebrated on Tuesday, August 24 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sisters’ Chapel, 9000 Babcock Blvd., Allison Park, PA.
