Age 83, on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, Sr. Paulita Kuzy (Dorothy Joanne) went to her eternal reward. Sr. Paulita was born on June 19, 1939, to George and Anna (Saniga) Kuzy; was baptized, received Holy Communion and Confirmation in the Byzantine Rite in Braddock, PA. She entered the Sisters of Divine Providence on September 8, 1957 and professed final vows on August 15, 1965. Sister celebrated her 65th year in Religious Life in 2022. Sr. Paulita attended La Roche College (now La Roche University), Notre Dame, Duquesne, and the University of Pittsburgh, earning both Bachelor and master's degrees in education and Principal Certification. She served as teacher and principal in several schools in the Pittsburgh area, in Michigan and in an International School in Rome, Italy. Sr. Paulita published an article in the journal of the National Catholic Education Association and received various awards of appreciation for her leadership. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Fr. Paul Kuzy, C.PP.S., Frances Vensel, and George Kuzy; survived by a sister, Nancy (John) Yakim, nieces and nephews, and the Sisters of Divine Providence and their Associates. All Services will take place in the Visitation Chapel at Kearns Spirituality Center, 9000 Babcock Boulevard, Allison Park, PA, 15101. Viewing will be on Sunday, January 8, 2023, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., with a Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, January 9, 2023. Services will be available via livestream: https://video.ibm.com/channel/Q4zW6rUvwPq. Burial will follow in Providence Heights Cemetery. All who are vaccinated are welcome to participate.
