Sister Rose Michele passed to her eternal reward on Friday, September 22, 2023. She was born on November 7, 1935 in Wheeling, West Virginia and baptized at St. Alphonsus Church. She entered the Sisters of Divine Providence in 1951 and professed Final Vows in 1958. For many years, Sister Rose Michele served as a Catholic School Teacher in the Dioceses of Pittsburgh, Altoona-Johnston, Columbus, Detroit, Wheeling-Charleston, and Rome. She received both Bachelor and Master’s degrees in education from Duquesne University. Sister also ministered in Pittsburgh at the Ozanam Cultural Center, the Dorothy Day Apartments in the East End and Kearns Spirituality Center. Her last active ministry was in Campus Ministry at LaRoche University in the Providence World Café, where she served compassionate care and nourishment to the students. She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Genevieve (Fise) Sieber and a brother, Michael (Mick) Sieber. Sister is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Sieber and the Sisters of Divine Providence and their Associates. Viewing: Monday, September 25, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. All services will be held in Visitation Chapel at Kearns Spirituality Center, 9000 Babcock Boulevard, Allison Park, PA, 15101.
